Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has delivered an impassioned speech from a bench in York, in a bid to defeat a challenge to his leadership by Welsh MP Owen Smith.
Britain’s leader of the opposition made the 30-minute rallying plea in St Helen’s Square to a crowd of more than 1,000. My Facebook live-stream of it has also been viewed more than 22,000 times and has reached more than 90,000 people.
Jeremy spoke on austerity, inequality, poverty and mental health, among a host of other things. You can read my report on YorkMix and watch the live-stream via the YorkMix Facebook page.
